Dirty by Kylie Scott

Blurb:

The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.

Lydia Green doesn't know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.

Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she'd marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong-maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?

My Review - 5 Down and Dirty Stars!!!

Okay, first off let me get my girly fan girl scream off my chest... A new Kylie Scott book!!!! Squeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!  I have been so freaking excited for this book since I finished Deep. If you've read Kylie's Stage Dive series then you know exactly where I'm coming from and if you haven't read it yet... My God what are you doing?!?!? Drop whatever you are doing, go buy the entire series and READ IT NOW!

Vaughan has returned home after the breakup of his band to regroup, get some money together and start a new band far, far away from his hometown. He doesn't plan on sticking around but when he finds a crying Lydia in his bathtub in full wedding regalia he is shocked. He is very attracted to her but he doesn't want to start a relationship because he plans on leaving town as soon as he can.

Lydia found out right before her wedding that her fiancee is a cheating, lying pig. His only reason for marrying her is to cover up his relationship with his best man. And what's worse is that everyone in town seems to know about the affair. Lydia is understandably humiliated so when Vaughan offers her a place to stay until she can get her settlement from the ex- asshat fiance's family (to keep quiet about his affair) she jumps at the chance. Lydia can't help but notice how drool worthy Vaughan is, but it's more than that, she genuinely likes him. She may not be looking for a relationship so soon after her last disaster but she is totally up for a little friends with benefits action.

I LOVED Lydia! It's not often in a book where I love the heroine more than the hero, (don't get me wrong, Vaughan is epically sexilicious and a total sweetheart when he's not being a short tempered pud that is) but Lydia is freaking awesome! She is the type of person that I could totally see myself being besties with. She's smart, kind, and witty and just plain fun. I loved the interaction between her and all of the people in Dirty. From Vaughan, to his sister Nell even how she handled her dipshit ex and his family. *giggles* It's one of my favorite scenes... Nothing like some well deserved violence which is another reason why I want her for my best friend. LOL Vaughan was deliciously sexy, charming and a cute as hell flirt! God, I loved that ginger so hard!

One of the things that I loved about Vaughan and Lydia's relationship was that they had an instant attraction but their relationship grew from friendship as well as chemistry. They balanced each other perfectly and I loved how fun they were as a couple. They just fit together. And the supporting characters? I loved them just as much as I did Vaughan and Lydia.

All in all, I absolutely adored Dirty. It had the perfect mix of everything that I love about this genre. Great story, engaging, well rounded characters and yummy sexy times. Awesome, awesome book! I'm happy to say that Kylie has kept up the momentum from her Stage Dive series and I can't wait for the next Dive Bar book!
