5 STARS!!!
I can't express how much I loved this book! This series has been one of my all time favorites but after Eibhear and Izzy's book kind of fizzled for me, oh don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, but it just didn't get to me like the previous ones had. So needless to say, I was a little hesitant to read Celyn's story. Alas, I worried for nothing, Light My Fire was fantastic! The author's ability to weave such an intricate world with such vivid imagery is the reason why she is one of my main go to authors. Light My Fire has a little bit of everything, adventure, romance, action and plenty of gore (well, they are dragons after all). Her characters are full of depth and the dialogue between them is witty and beyond hilarious!I can't tell you how many times I was cracking up hysterically (especially whenever Gwenvael made an appearance) over something one of the dragons or their mates said.

Celyn the Charming has now become one of my favorites, all of his endless questions, lol! Almost like a child but with the typical dragon arrogance. His heroine, Elina Shestakova of the Black Bear Riders of the Midnight.... good God her name was endless.....(and a huge source of irritation to the dragons) lol reminded me of an Amazon. She comes from a tribe where the women were the hunters and protectors and the men raised the children and were viewed as the weaker members. She has an enemy in the tribe however, the leader views her as weak and useless so she sends Elina on a suicide mission to kill the Dragon Queen, Rhiannon.

Celyn is part of the Queen's elite guard and finds Elina just as she reaches the entrance to the Queen's lair. She resigns her self to death but surprisingly Rhiannon decides to spare Elina. She tells Celyn to put her somewhere safe for the time being, and Celyn the "Dolt" decides to drop her off in the human jail and promptly forgets about her for almost a year! Yeah, she was a bit ticked off when he was sent to bring her back before the Queen. Elina was raised to believe that the Southlanders are lazy and decadent people that live off the suffering of their servants. But as she spends time with Annwyl and her people she realizes that may not be completely true.
Rhiannon and Annwyl have decided to send Elina back to her people to see if she can set up a meeting between Annwyl and the leader of all the Steppes tribes, Anne Atli. Although Elina knows that she will probably be killed upon her return she is determined to do what she can to help these people that she has come to respect. Celyn is assigned to escort her back and Elina is not pleased. She is a woman of few words and he pesters her with endless questions. But as annoying and silly as he is at times, Celyn is a true warrior and deadly when necessary. As they travel closer to Elina's homeland they learn to get along and even like each other.

I don't want to give away any more details than I already have but trust me there is a lot more to the story. If you are a fan of snarky, arrogant, bloodthirsty dragons, insane, head chopping off, human queens, strong willed, no nonsense heroines who wish that "death finds you well" and annoyingly irreverent but sweet dragon heroes then I urge you to grab your copy of Light My Fire ASAP!

* I received a copy from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
