My Review - 5 Stars!!
Ho-leee smokes! I didn't think that this series could get any better but I was sooooo wrong! Not only it is freaking amazing but we get two different couples stories! Rhea and Conall and Rory and Liberty. Now as much as I adore Katie's dragons I have to say that Rory totally stole the show for me. Even though he is a half demon/half wolf shifter and total bad ass, Rory was so incredibly sweet and patient with Liberty. There is nothing I adore more than seeing the gentle side of an alpha. He knew from the moment he first saw Liberty that she was his mate but because of the trauma that she suffered before her rescue he knows that she needs time to heal before he can claim her. I freaking LOVED this guy! He didn't care how long it took, he was prepared to wait for her no matter what. And in the meantime he pampered her and protected her. He even slept in her bed at night in his wolf form so she wouldn't be alone! *sighs* Sweetest. Thing. Ever. Liberty is no victim, even though she's gone through horrific abuse she is a fighter. She is determined to regain control of her life and learn to trust again. I loved her strength of character!
While Rory and Liberty's story was full of gentleness and romance, Conall and Rhea's was passion and intensity. Rhea is a tracker for the Stavros pack and is drawn to Conall but she refuses to give into the pull to mate him for fear of endangering his life. Conall on the other hand has had enough of waiting. He is ready to claim his mate but he knows that she will reject an all out frontal assault so he slowly builds their relationship through friendship. I love that he respects her as a warrior. He is possessive and protective but has enough faith in Rhea's abilities that he steps back and lets her fight her own battles.
Full of action, romance and smexilicious shifters, Into the Darkness was a great addition to The Darkness series and I cant wait to see what comes next!
