Zarek
is a dragon shifter on a time limit. He has to find his mate soon or
risk spending the rest of his life impotent. He is resentful of the idea
of being saddled with the same woman for the rest of his life. Deciding
to go to a club and pick up a woman for the night he is blindsided by
the sight of Keren. He decides that he has to have her and in true cocky
alpha fashion just assumes that she will fall into his arms. When she
doesn't, he decides to seal the deal with a kiss and give her a dose of
his dragon aphrodisiac. Zarek is shocked when instead of wanting to jump
his bones Keren is repulsed by his taste. <---- Freaking
hil-lar-ious...
When Zarek is injured in a fight trying to protect Keren from a demon attack, she takes him home to take care of him. When Zarek awakes he realizes that Keren is his mate but to his shock and dismay he also realizes that she is a slayer, and not just any slayer. She is from the same slayer family that has almost decimated his race.
This was a fun, quirky, smexy read and as usual my only complaint is that I wished it was longer (only because I was really enjoying the story and didn't want it to be over). The epilogue was perfect ending to a great read.
