Madelyn is a guardian, in fact, she is the only female guardian ever. Guardians are a group of warriors that secretly protect mankind from all the nasty paranormals that are running about. Her best friend and roommate is Brady, who just happens to be a Lycan and her mate, although she doesn't know all this. Brady loves her but can't figure out how to get her to look at him as something more than just a friend. Madelyn is running on fumes, she hasn't eaten or slept in months and the paranormal attacks on innocents have been rising nightly. But she won't stop and soon becomes a target as well as a danger to herself. Finally Brady is able to make his move...
I adored Brady and Madelyn, the dialogue between those two was hilarious! Brady is a true alpha but keeps it in check for the most part around Madelyn. He does everything that he can to protect her and take care of her but he does have some serious jealousy issues at times (understandably), Madelyn is extremely stubborn, almost to the point of being irritating. But she is a warrior herself, selfless and brave which means she won't/can't stand down and let someone else fight in her place.
The story was very fast paced and had a lot going on as far as details so you really had to pay attention while reading to keep up with everything going on. And the smexy scenes are classic Mandy Roth, HAWT! *fans face* The secondary characters were awesome and I plan to stalk the author until she writes Franco and Gabriel's stories. LOL! This book will definitely be going into my reread folder!
