My Review - 5 Stars!

The Moon Shifters is one of my all time favorite series and I am beyond bummed to find out that it will be ending soon. However, on the upside we will be getting two books back to back and after reading Dark Protector, I can't wait to get my hands on the next book, A Mate for Christmas! 

Aldric broke my heart. He has been mourning the loss of his mate and unborn child for hundreds of years. He feels at fault for not being there to protect them and add to the fact that he attacked his own brother in his grief, his guilt has kept him away and from forming attachments to anyone. Until Natalia that is. Natalia manages to worm her way into his heart which in turn causes him to panic and leave. He doesn't think that he deserves another mate since he couldn't protect his first one. On one hand I wanted to hug him but on the other I wanted to smack him upside his head for leaving Natalia to begin with!

And speaking of Natalia, I just have to say that I totally love Katie's heroines! They are all strong, sassy and confident. And while Natalia was devastated by Aldric leaving like he did, she didn't wallow in it. She decided to move on with her life and jumps at the chance to help Jayce on his next mission not realizing that he intends on partnering her up with with the one person that she has doesn't want to see anymore.

When Aldric sees Natalia again he realizes that he will not be able to let her go again. He can't deny his feelings for her any longer and will do whatever it takes to earn her forgiveness. But the mission must come first so he decides to slowly earn her trust back while they work together to figure out who is kidnapping Vampires from the local coven. I love how deliciously possessive Aldric was over Natalia and the chemistry between the two was seriously intense.

Dark Protector was a fantastic read with nonstop action, intrigue and steamy romance that you will thoroughly enjoy.
