The Harder You Fall by Gena Showalter

Blurb:

From New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter comes another scorching Original Heartbreakers tale featuring an aloof bad boy and the rowdy Southern belle who rocks his world…
Millionaire video-game creator Lincoln West has a dark and tragic past. The sought-after bachelor lives by a rigid schedule and a single rule—one relationship per year, lasting no more than two months. No exceptions. When he gave up the big city for a small town, he hoped to escape the worst of his memories—until a brash beauty dredges up long-buried emotions.

A reformed party girl, Jessie Kay Dillon is determined to walk the straight and narrow. But her love-hate sizzle with West is just too irresistible. They can't be near each other without tearing off their clothes, but the last thing she needs is to be his next two-month dump. Will she become the one exception? Because as any former girl-gone-wild knows: rules are made to be broken.

My Review: 5 STARS!!!

Holy freaking balls, I LOVED this book so much!! Everyone who knows me is aware that I am an absolute die-hard Gena Showalter fangirl. I will devour any and every book that she puts out, I don't even care if it's an instruction manual to a television surround sound system. If she writes it, I will read it. And do you want to know why? Because no matter if it's PNR, YA or Contemporary, she always rocks my world. The Harder You Fall is another winner for me! I have been dying, and I mean DYING for West's story since I first met him in The Closer You Come. He's been the mystery guy for me, the one I could never quite pin down. Jase was the damaged ex con, Beck was the damaged he-slut and West was the damaged computer nerd? Yeah, I really wondered how he was going to stand a chance of holding his own against the drop your panties, sex on a stick yumminess of Jase and Beck. But sweet baby J he totally blew them out of the water! I so want my own damaged computer nerd now!

West lives by very strict schedules, it's how he has coped with his addiction problem and manages his grief over Tessa. But what I found out about West is that for all of his schedules, rules and fake smiles he is deliciously aggressive, possessive, passionate, and protective and when he decided that he was going all out to have Jessie Kay, OH. MY. GOD. The computer nerd is a total alpha! I swear, instant ovulation. Seriously people, my eggs were shooting down my fallopian tubes like tiny bobsledders on an Olympic course! I love, love, LOVE fierce heroes and West, for all of his nerdiness (which only made him that much sexier) was beyond fierce and as I knew it would, his backstory broke my heart. Now I'm not going into details because I loathe spoilers but he seriously grabbed me in the feels when I found out the reason for his dating limit.

Jessie Kay is a party girl, she comes and goes as she pleases and lives to rile West. She is extremely drawn to him but doesn't believe that she will have a chance with him because of her history with his two best friends. Jessie Kay is trying to change her life for the better, she's given up her partying ways and is trying to make it on her own. I loved her character so much! She was witty, quirky and just plain fun and while I did have concerns with how she would mesh with West, I quickly realized that they were perfect for each other. They were like two halves of a whole. She brought fun and laughter to his rigid scheduled life and he brought security and self confidence to hers. Their story was a beautiful one of love and redemption. West for his guilt over Jase and Tessa and Jessie Kay for her wild, irresponsible party days.

The Harder You Fall was a fantastic ending to a well loved and favorite series of mine and Jessie Kay and West have cemented themselves as one of my all time favorite couples (you will always be my book husband, Maddox!) As usual, Gena's nailed it with another great storyline, multi-dimensional characters that you can't help but fall in love with and one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride! So if you are looking for a page turner that is full of laughter, love and grab your heartstrings smexy then I definitely recommend grabbing this book!
